time_type
timestamp
Selects how the message is timed: 0 for immediate processing, 1 for a UTC time, 2 for a SMPTE VITC time code, or 3 for a GPI trigger. It also determines which of the other timestamp fields are present.

Standards note
Only 0 to 3 are defined; any other non-zero value is reserved for future standardization. A receiver that does not understand the time_type should ignore the message and return the time-type-unsupported result code rather than accepting it.
